Generation Online Has Arrived!

Ten years ago, if a student was asked what they spent most of their free time doing, their answer would have probably been, “watching television.” Now, the answer would more likely be related in some way to the Internet. In fact, according to a recent poll by AC Nielsen, between entertainment, social networking and studying, the average student spends more than 26 hours a week online. And right now, more almost 4 million students attend college online.

That’s why Making It Count and Axia College of University of Phoenix have teamed up to present this unique workshop designed to give educators, students and parents more information about the online world, including options for online education.

An Event for Educators

During the Inside Generation Online Breakfast workshop, high school educators will learn more about the online culture of their students and how to use this information to their advantage when communicating with them. Attendees will also learn more about current trends in online education and the opportunities available to students, using examples from Axia College of University of Phoenix.

Every educator in attendance will receive from Making It Count:

  • A copy of “Making College Count” a book by Making It Count co-founder Pat O’Brien.
  • A chance to win a $250 general scholarship to their school.
  • An opportunity to win an online Continuing Teacher Education course.

Educators will also receive a flash drive loaded with valuable information about online education.
